CAB assesses certification bodies against ISO/IEC 17021-1 and related normative documents, focusing on competence, impartiality, and consistency. GIC is subject to CAB’s regular on-site assessments, witness audits, and annual surveillance to ensure sustained compliance and technical capability.
GIC ensures impartiality through an Independent Impartiality Committee, segregation of consultancy and certification, regular risk reviews, and transparent decision-making.
GIC personnel adhere to the principles of integrity, confidentiality, competence, fairness, and accountability. Confidential data is disclosed only with client consent or where legally required.
Complaints and appeals are managed in accordance with ISO/IEC 17021-1 Clauses 9.8–9.9. Complaints are investigated objectively; appeals are reviewed by an independent committee.
Certified clients may display the GIC Certification Mark and CAB Accreditation Mark within their certified scope only. Marks must not appear on product packaging implying product certification. Misuse may lead to certificate withdrawal.
Certification may be suspended, reduced, or withdrawn due to nonconformity, misuse of certificates, failure to undergo audits, or financial noncompliance.
